I was going to save this shot for the wedding trip post that I have scheduled for next Sunday, but it seemed appropriate for Terri’s Sunday Stills theme – the color apricot. I have never thought of apricot as being a color, but when I saw her examples I knew I had to share these photos.

I shot these during ‘golden hour’ on a hillside in Tuscany. We had gone to this location for the sunset, but I was much more interested in what the light was doing to my daughter’s hair. Apricot or Fire? You decide.

We have just returned from Tuscany, and are still processing the whole experience. I will have a very long post about our vacation/wedding next week, so please check your email early Sunday morning.
These are stunning. What a trip. I think I would call the color apricot fire.

Liesbet, there was just enough wind to create that bit of magic with the sun. I shot way too many photos here. They never got tired of kissing…..

What beautiful photos! They would be lovely shots anyway but that backlighting really enhances them. Perfect timing for your shoot – I look forward to more next week.

Sarah, thank you. It was perfect timing and good planning on the part of my new SIL. He had the spot all planned out ahead of time and kept us moving throughout the day so we wouldn’t miss the show.

Suzanne,
Awesome picture–I could feel the love from here! Although I have traveled most of Europe, I never made it to Tuscany, and I can’t wait for you and Malcolm to take me there. Glad you made it home safely. I assume you’re working off the jet lag. Have a great week. Joe

Joe, let’s just say that I still want to have dinner at 2:00 and sleep at 7:00. I don’t remember ever having this much trouble adjusting – I guess it’s an age thing. This was our second time visiting Tuscany and I would go back in a heartbeat. The landscape there is simply magical.

Wow! How beautiful your daughter is and your photos of her luxurious hair would light the night. They look like a lovely couple. I can’t wait to see more of Tuscany and your wedding pictures. My husband would pack up and move to Italy I think if we were younger. I’d better watch him, though, if he sees your pics, he might start packing tomorrow. 🙂

Marsha, the sun and wind played with her hair perfectly to create that fire. Yes, if we were younger, we’d do a lot of things…
