retired from work, not life
Our Captured Moment this Sunday is of a Snowy Egret. I focused my lens and followed the bird for several minutes while it did absolutely nothing, and then finally, she lifted her wing and revealed my reward for being patient – a beautiful reflection.
As an amateur photographer, this shot is one in one thousand for me. Being in the right place at the right time means a lot, but being prepared makes the difference between success and disappointment. Have you had a moment when preparation and opportunity have collided? How did it turn out for you?

Beautiful capture. You should be proud. The best image l took ever (at least to me) is of a bird too in Malta. Did nothing forever and l waited and waited till it finally spread the wings and lifted off :-).

I have a picture of a sea turtle that I took in Hawaii with my iPhone. Somehow it just worked. I had it printed on canvas and it is hanging in my dining room. Did you print your photo… if not, you should It’s really special.

I am going to print it, and frame it for the wall. Just have not decided what size and where I want it to hang.

Taking photos of wildlife is hard, since they are always on the move. I was in Mauritius recently and tried so hard to get some pictures of a beautiful red bird….my efforts did not pay off☹️ I love this photo….. patience has definitely paid off for you😄

I mostly shoot landscapes because of that very reason. It requires a lot of patience for very little payoff, if any.
